The PlayStation 5 Pro is off to a strong start despite its $700 price tag. According to Circana analyst Matt Piscatella, the PS5 Pro accounted for 19% of total PS5 sales in the US in November. This number is consistent with the PS4 Pro, which accounted for 20% of total PS4 sales during the same period.
This trend is spreading around the world. In the UK, the PS5 Pro accounted for 26% of console sales in November, according to GfK ChartTrack. According to Famitsu, in Japan it dominated 63% of PS5 sales that month, selling 78,000 units in the first week alone.
On the revenue front, the PS5 Pro's higher price helped drive US sales up 50% compared to 2016's PS4 Pro.
However, there are signs of weakening demand. During the pre-order period, the device did not sell out and some dealers were forced to sell at a loss.
