RKN: the agency has no plans to collect data on VPN users' personal devices
The draft order of Roskomnadzor (RKN) on the identification of Internet traffic providing access to illegal Internet resources does not regulate the collection of data on the personal devices of VPN users. writes about this in connection with the organization's press service.
Previously, an order of the RKN was published on the portal of draft legal acts, according to which the obligation of telecommunications operators to submit to the ministry “information allowing the identification of means of communication and user devices” on the Internet is established.
Journalists from several media agencies claim that thanks to this, Roskomnadzor was allegedly able to obtain information about Internet users who visit Internet sites blocked in Russia through various services.
“Roskomnadzor's draft order concerns the collection of network addresses used by telecommunications operators in various constituent entities of the Russian Federation to update filtering rules aimed at preventing against computer attacks, including DDoS attacks”.
