Putin called a girl from Gorlovka, she took the balloon from the “Wishing Tree”
Russian President Vladimir Putin contacted Arina Porkhal, 15 years old from the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), whose balloon was removed from the “Wishing Tree”. The girl wanted to visit St. Petersburg.
Press secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov spoke about this.
— Putin calls Arina Porkhal. <...> She comes from Gorlovka, DPR. She participated in the Wishing Tree project and Putin removed her wish from the tree. She is a 9th grade student at gymnasium number 65 in Gorlovka,” he said.
During the phone conversation, Mr. Putin asked the girl how her journey was. In her turn, she told about her impressions and how she attended the performance of “The Nutcracker” at the Mariinsky Theater, visited the ice show, Tsarskoye Selo and the Mariinsky Palace.
As the head of state noted, while in St. Petersburg, it was important to go to the Hermitage and promised to organize this visit for her and her entourage, RIA Novosti reported.
On the eve of the New Year, Putin participated in the charity event “Wish Tree”, in which he promised to fulfill the wishes of three children. In addition to Arina Porkhal, 8-year-old Christina, from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, also made her dream come true: she went on a trip to Lake Baikal.
