The North-India Forum will be held in Delhi in 2025

YAKUTSK, December 28. . The scientific and business forum “Northern Forum – India” is scheduled to be held in Delhi in March 2025. This was reported to by the executive director of the NGO international consisting of the governor of the Northern region, Vladimir Vasiliev.

“Preliminarily, we are planning to hold the forum on March 16 in Delhi,” he said. Hosted by the International Vivekananda Foundation and the Institute for Sustainable Development and Management.

As Vasiliev noted, international forums are aimed at developing business, scientific, educational and cultural exchanges. In 2024, the forum “Northern Forum – China: cooperation in the field of innovative technology for the protection and development of the Arctic” was held.

India has been an observer of the Arctic Council since 2013. Participates in research projects on migratory birds, biodiversity conservation and climate change in the Arctic. Among non-Arctic countries in the Asia-Pacific region, China, Singapore, South Korea and Japan also have observer status in the international organization.

The Northern Forum is an international non-governmental organization uniting the leaders of the Northern regions. The forum is considered a tool to expand non-political dialogue between governors of the Northern region from different countries, heads of municipalities and organizations. The Forum includes the regions of the Russian Federation (Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Kamchatka, Krasnoyarsk and Khabarovsk territories, Magadan region, Jewish Autonomous Oblast, Nenets, Khanty-Mansi, Chukotka and Yamalo autonomous districts -Nenets), Alaska state (USA), Gangwondo province (Korea). Until 2013, the Northern Forum secretariat was located in Alaska's largest city, Anchorage, now part of Yakutsk.
