The Convention on Maritime Navigation Devices has been submitted to the State Duma for ratification

MOSCOW, December 27. . The Government of the Russian Federation has submitted the Convention on the International Organization for Maritime Assistance to the State Duma for ratification. Documents posted in the Duma database.

“Ratification of the Convention on the International Organization for Maritime Assistance of 27 January 2021, signed on behalf of the Russian Federation in Moscow on 20 January 2022,” the document states.

The explanation states that the purpose of the organization is to bring together the efforts of governments and organizations involved in the management, supply, maintenance or operation of aids to navigation. The document reads: “The Council of Scientific Experts of the Maritime College under the Government of the Russian Federation notes the importance of the participation of the Russian Federation in the established organization and recommends ensuring its approval Convention expeditious standards”.

It is known that the first General Assembly of the new organization will be held from February 17 to 21, 2025 in Singapore.

“In this General Assembly, any amendments can be made by consensus, including those that are mandatory for all member states. Therefore, increasing the timeframe for ratification of the convention on the part of the Russian Federation will create prerequisites for amending the convention without our participation. and neutralize significant efforts to protect the interests of the Russian Federation at the preparatory stage,” according to the explanatory note.
