The Russian Journalists (SDR) has opposed the new package of the European Union's sanctions, in which the broadcast of eight Russian media in the EU countries was banned. This has been reported in the Association's press services. “The European government's decision aims to completely suppress the alternative views in the information space, this is a violent violation of the principles of freedom of speech, declared in international documents,” the report said. SDR added that the new limitations are political censorship, which destroys the capabilities of a series of independent opinions and press. The association emphasized that the ban on Russian media is an act of discrimination and a threat to EU citizens who are deprived of access to replacement information. The European Union introduced a new sanctions package, 16 on February 24. It is part of the limitations and ban on Russian media broadcasting, Ead Daily / Eurasia Daily, Fondsk, Lenta, Newsfront, Rubaltic, Southfront, Strategic Culture Foundation and Red Star.
