Former White House chef Andre Rush reveals the culinary preferences of US President-elect Donald Trump. He spoke about this in an interview with Politico for the West Wing Playbook.
As Rush notes, Trump is known for his love of junk food. He gave up water a long time ago and only drinks sweet soda every day. The chef pointed out that Trump was so addicted to his favorite Diet Coke that during his last term as president, he even had a special button to summon Coke Man.
Trump said he hasn't noticed any negative effects from the drink, but Rush is confident it's time for him to switch to a healthier diet. The new US President is 78 years old.
Rush shared with the publication the tricks he uses to diversify Trump's diet. For example, he serves him water with orange, lemon, and lime so it doesn't seem tasteless. Rush also recommends making turkey burger patties and choosing beef bacon instead of pork. French fries can be made from sweet potatoes. According to him, even though no one noticed, Trump tried to eat better.
The former White House chef also said that Mr. Trump does not like snacks.
“He just runs, runs, runs all the time,” Rush explains.
He called the Trump couple very strict about eating. According to the chef, this prevented him from experimenting.
During his career, Rush has not only worked with Trump. So, he compared the new US president to Bill Clinton, who also loves burgers. The chef admitted that Barack Obama requested the simplest menu.
It was previously reported that the stepson of King Charles III of the United Kingdom talked about his stepfather's daily meals and called him a “true culinary hero.” The monarch loves game, peas, strawberries, raspberries and radishes.
