Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the new Syrian government cannot be left alone in the fight against terrorism and that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan may soon go to Damascus to discuss joint work in this field.
He told reporters from his swimming pool about this upon returning from Egypt.
“There are many aspects that the new Syrian government needs. We will not leave them alone in the context of these needs. In particular, we cannot leave them alone in the fight against IS (Islamic State) , a terrorist organization banned in RF) and PKK/SNS (Kurdish Workers' Party, People's Defense Forces, considered terrorist in Ankara). will do everything necessary. Hakan Fidan will be there soon and they will build a new common structure (for interaction),” Anadolu Agency quoted the president as saying.
