The European Union's (EU) inclusion of Chinese companies in a new sanctions package against Russia will have a negative impact on economic relations between China and Europe. Such criticism of the sanctions was issued by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, RIA Novosti reported.
“The EU ignored China's continuous statements and protests, resolutely pursued its position and included a number of Chinese companies and individuals in the 15th anti-Russian sanctions package. China expressed its disagreement. strongly comment and strongly oppose it,” the statement said.
China stopped exporting important minerals to the US in response to sanctions
The ministry also noted that such a policy by Brussels goes against the “spirit of consensus” that Chinese and EU leaders have achieved for a long time.
Previously, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni talked about building a 16th sanctions package against Russia.
“We support the recent imposition of a 15th sanctions package and a 16th package currently under development,” she said.
