Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk said Moscow considers the discussion of Armenia's European Union (EU) accession law to be the beginning of the country's departure from the EAEU. reports this.
According to Overchuk, Russia's future economic policy towards Armenia will take this law into account. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister also added that joining the European Union is a sovereign choice of Armenia, “certainly the country has the right”.
“We consider the beginning of the discussion in Armenia on the bill “On the implementation of the accession process to the European Union” as the first step for Armenia to leave the EAEU. The Russian Federation will develop its economic policy towards Armenia taking into account this situation,” he said.
