Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed condolences to his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi regarding the earthquake that occurred in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. This was announced in the Russian Federation in Beijing.

Lavrov noted that the earthquake caused significant loss of life and destruction.

Previously on January 7, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 occurred in the Tibet Autonomous Region in southwest China near the border with Nepal. According to the latest data, 95 people became victims of the emergency and another 130 were injured.
