Hong Kong’s foreign currency reserve assets rose to US$453.3 billion in September from August’s US$449.9 billion, the Monetary Authority announced today.

The reserve assets represent over six times the currency in circulation or about 42% of Hong Kong dollar M3.

Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets at the end of September increased to US$456.2 billion from August’s US$449.8 billion.
